Toby Huddlestone is a practicing contemporary artist currently based in London and Bristol who also works on curatorial projects.
Recent projects and exhibitions include a duo show at R O O M, London and solo shows I'm so Bored of Viewing... at The Engine Room, Wellington (2010), New Zealand, ON ON/Protest Apathy at Outlet, Manchester (2009), Double Yes at Plan 9, Bristol (2008) and at In Focus space at Oriel Davies Gallery, Newtown (2008), residency and commission at Outpost as part of Contemporary Art Norwich (2009) and group projects Field Broadcast at Wysing Arts Centre (2010), Crosstalk Video Festival, Budapest (2010), A Line, A Road, Abridged at Hold and Freight, London (2009), Coalesce: Happenstance at Smart Project space, Amsterdam (2009), Trade City as part of Contemporary Art Manchester (2009), Sale at The Royal Standard in Liverpool (2009) He has undertaken residencies with exhibition at Hotel MariaKapel, Holland (2006) and HIAP, Finland (2007).
Curated projects include I AM COMEDY, a multi-locational screening, residency, exhibition and event-based project touring to Worm (Rotterdam), W139 (Amsterdam), HMK (Hoorn) and Arnolfini (Bristol), BRSLAXVAA (2005) and UTSTÄLLRUMM at Plan 9, Bristol (2007) alongside co-ordinating Plan 9‘s programme as co-director (2005-2008) and the re-interpretation of Curating Degree Zero at Spike Island (2005).
He has been selected for the Europe-wide festival EXCHANGE RADICAL MOMENTS and Iteration:Again, a series of temporary public commissions in Tasmania in 2011, is working on a commission for the Portuguese Island of Berlenga in summer 2010, upcoming groups shows in Munich, London and Liverpool in summer 2010 and working on a new solo commission with Satellite in Melbourne and has an upcoming solo project at ZDB in Lisbon, Portugal (late 2010/early 2011).
